Blu

Blu is an artist from Los Angeles, California. Blu started gaining attention after his debut album, Below the Heavens, which was produced by Exile and Emanon. His stepfather was a pastor, so he had a lot of influence from gospel and christian rap. Blu's main artist influence is Common. His transformation into an artist started when he began freestyling and he then eventually transitioned into writting his own tracks. Blu also worked as a hypeman for Slum Village and several other artists. Blu's style is very laid back and relaxed. When you listen to one of his songs, you can feel the positive and happy vibes radiating from the song. His flow is very smooth, and his lyrics are clever and slick. Blu was named one of XXL's top "Freshman" of 2009, and has a new album coming out in 2011. Enjoy!!!
