Racism

Racism. Racism is a terrible thing that plagues this world. People hating other people based on skin color, culture, and religion. It is sad in this day of age, that racism still exists. All of us have hearts that pump blood, we all have feelings, we all have goals and dreams, and we can all love. I have always thought, was racism created? The genocide in Rwanda was created by the Belgians. The Hutu and Tutsi lived alongside for hundreds of years, until the Belgians began profiling them. Under the regime of Hitler, millions of Jews were murdered, because he thought they were responsible for the problems in the world.  After pearl harbor, thousands of Japanese-Americans were put into camps, because they were Japanese. America used Africans as slaves, which was not only a terrible thing, but it also gave birth to racism against Blacks in the United States. Most recently, Muslims have been dehumanized and their religion demonized because of terrorist groups and attacks. The government and the media have created the paradigm that all Muslims are terrorists, which is totally ignorant and racist. Racism is something that can be stopped through education, because it is fueled by ignorance. We must realized we must unite and put our cultural, religious, and skin color differences aside.
