Omar Offendum

On February 23rd, 2013 Omar Offendum performed at Heidelberg University's Hiphop for Love in Tiffin, Ohio. The show aimed to raise donations and awareness for Omeid International charity, which builds homes and schools for orphans in Afghanistan. Omeid also strives to provide the children with an education and opportunities for their future. The concert was a great success, raising over 800 dollars for Omeid International and awareness of the history and current state in Afghanistan. Being an Syrian/American MC, Omar's music aims to bridge cultural gaps between the east and the west. His conscious, intelligent music mixed with his high class flow hits the audience with positive vibes and leaves them wanting to learn more about what they heard and learned in his songs and spoken-word poems. His stage presence is one of a kind and really gets the crowd involved and excited. In a society, in which many people wish for instant gratification, blindly follow ideologies and believe everything they are told, without researching for themselves to build their own ideas and opinions, Omars music encourages learning. His message is very powerful and thought-provoking leading to open eyes and minds. His music, like many other conscious MCs, open doors and it is the listeners decision to enter, grow and learn. Music is a very powerful tool to open minds, mobilize the masses and unite people to work together for a common goal. It truly is the language of the world! We were very lucky to have Mr. Offendum at Heidelberg University. Omar is another MC that keeps the heart of Hiphop beating strong and truly practices what he preaches.
