David Dallas, International Artist Of The Week

This weeks international artist is David Dallas. David Dallas is from Papatoetoe, Auckland, New Zealand, and is of Samoan/NZ descent. David Dallas released his first EP in 2008 titled, Something New. He later released his first album titled, Something Awesome, which dropped in 2009 through Dirty Records. In 2010 he won Best Urban/Hip-Hop album at the 2010 New Zealand music awards  for Something Awesome.David Dallas has also made some noise in the United States too, collaborating with artists such as, Freddie Gibbs, Buckshot and Buff1. His latest album titled, The Rose Tint, was released on May 11, 2011, and is available to download for free. David Dallas has a great sound, flow, and lyrics, but the thing I admire about him is that he is true to his Samoan/NZ descent. A lot of hip-hop artists from another country think they have to act and sound "American" to be successful, but David Dallas remains true to himself and his roots, and is getting big. Check him out!
