Planet Asia

Planet Asia is an underground artist from Fresno, California. In the 90's, Planet Asia moved to San Francisco, California, and this is where he started taking hip-hop seriously. In San Francisco, he released two singles which helped Planet Asia get his name out to the public. These singles were, "Definition of Ill" and "Place of Birth". Planet Asia started to turn heads, when he The Source awarded him best Independent Album of the Year for his album, How The West Was One. His critically acclaimed album, How The West Was One, was recorded with fellow hip-hop artist Rasco, and helped Planet Asia  land a record deal with Interscope. He did not release an album while with Interscope, and left in 2003. Later that year he was signed by Avatar records, and released his an album titled, The Grand Opening. The Grand Opening also won Planet Asia an Independent Album of the Year award from The Source. Planet Asia later left Avatar records and started his own label, Gold Chain Records. Planet Asia has released many Mixtapes, EP's, and albums during his career. He has also collaborated with other artists such as: Tupac, Bun B, Ghostface Killah, and Talib Kweli. Planet Asia's latest album is supposed to drop in 2011 and is titled, Each Step Becomes Elevated. Planet Asia is a great artist, who knows a thing or two about the hip-hop game. He is a great artist with passion, charisma, has one of the best flows I have ever heard, and has an old-school sound. Check him out. Enjoy!
